This herb belongs to the Parsley family, looks like a huge Parsley. The romans introduced in to Europe from today’s Iran, Afganishtan & Southwest Asia. Its seed, roots & leaves are commonly used in Europe for flavoring foods and beverages and for the medicinal properties.
The leaf is very often used as a spice in the famous Hungarian Beef/Chicken Soups.
Essential oil can be made from the leaves and from the roots. The season for leaves is June/July. (The crop for Lovage Root Oil comes in November.)
The recent crop was a bit shorter than we had expected. The price is is the same as last year.
